A Macon Beverage Distributor, with an exceptional reputation in the Central Georgia area is seeking a dynamic, outgoing, and results-driven Sales Area Manager to oversee our retail sales team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service and driving sales. As the Sales Team Leader, you will be responsible for driving sales performance, managing inventory, and ensuring that our team meets its goals while providing an outstanding shopping experience for our customers.
Responsibilities
- Grow sales of our products and increase market share.
- Lead by motivating others.
- Cause change and expand effectiveness of the activities of team members.
- Teach team members; constantly focusing on increasing sales, product quality and improving service to our customers.
- Create excitement for our products.
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment moving multiple projects simultaneously.
- Negotiate with account owners for additional sales, promotions, and market share.
- Ensure quality as it pertains to products, data, processes, and compliance.
- Establish performance standards and hold team members responsible for them.
- Utilize retail math to analyze sales data and develop effective strategies for improvement.
- Run sales routes to cover absences.
The focus of this job is making connections with people, motivating, and teaching them to achieve results. Poise and an engaging communication style are the keys to achieving the goals of this job. The work involves driving toward sales goals by enrolling the commitment and buy-in of others. The job requires a leader with strong initiative and self-direction, and the ability to achieve results through people.
The job environment is fast paced and results oriented. Initiating projects and processes beyond established organization practices will often require training and developing others and enlisting their support. During the time leading up to seasonal holidays and when running routes, the hours required for this position can be long.
Knowledge of our products, the sales environment and a demonstrated history of achieving sale goals are essential. The job requires a high degree of “selling”. Whether it is the wide range of products or services to our customers, or changes and improvements within the organization, this position requires a persuasive approach to everything that is completed. A self-confident, extroverted style that can enliven, engage, and positively impact individuals and groups is essential.
In general, the core of this position requires a motivated and motivating team builder and organization developer to grow sales and market presence.
Individuals applying for this position should have a safe driving record and are required to demonstrate a history of success in their present position.
Experience
- Proven experience in a beverage sales environment.
- Previous experience as in a leadership role is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated success in creating new sales opportunities.
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on building lasting relationships with customer base.
- Familiarity with retail math and inventory management practices.
- Excellent skills in the Microsoft Office line of software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to negotiate effectively.
- Sales Leadership: 3 years
- Beverage Sales: 5 years
